A symbolic wedding is held when the couple applies for a marriage license in the county they reside before their arrival in Mexico. Then, our Officiant will custom design a ceremony script for you and will officiate a symbolic wedding ceremony in Mexico. Our intimate ceremonies take place at private or semi-private beaches, cenotes or on your private terrace of your villa rental. Our packages can be minimal, however, our most popular packages include on-site coordinator, keepsake certificate, officiant, floral design of arch and bouquet, photography & videography and private ground transfers on the wedding day. Custom design packages also available with add-ons of hair & make-up, music and more.

My Playa Wedding plans weddings for couples from around the world seeking a civil wedding in Mexico. A civil wedding is legal in Mexico and will be recognized most anywhere in the world. We work directly with an appointed Judge to conduct all aspects of your civil ceremony.

Our staff will personally work with you to complete the wedding application process and will translate documents into Spanish for the civil registry. Upon completion of the application, we will schedule your blood test. When you arrive Mexico, one of our coordinators will meet you with a certified nurse for your blood test and will discuss the final details for your ceremony. Your blood test can be conducted in the privacy of your hotel room or rental property (all-inclusive properties not included) or meet you at an assigned clinic appointed by the Judge. In addition, we custom design your ceremony script and assure all documents meet the legal requirements of Mexico. Four witnesses are required for your civil wedding and if you do not have witnesses, we will provide them for you. After the ceremony, you will have two original copies of the marriage license. Couple will take one original home with them. The second original will be sent to Cancun to receive the apostille seal and then mailed to your home residence. We can also provide additional copies of the marriage license and expedited ceremonies are also available at additional fees.

Ceremonies can be held on the beach, cenote setting, private residence or on a catamaran. A civil ceremony can be combined with a Mayan Ceremony and we custom design each ceremony script. The ceremony can be held in English or Spanish and other languages are also available. Once you return to your hometown, the city where you reside, you file the Mexican marriage license with your local courthouse.

Couples can embrace the Mayan culture with a Mayan Ceremony including symbolic rituals guided by a Mayan Shaman with Sahumadoras, complete with copal to cleanse the energy for your new union together. This ceremony combines the beautiful nature of Mexico with a spiritual experience within a private cenote setting or beach setting. A Mayan Ceremony includes ancient Mayan rituals and blessings for your union  including original Mayan prayers. The couple/family are welcomed by chants and the sacred copal (incense) which cleanses the energies. The Shaman will evoke the four elements of water, earth, wind and fire so their presence may strengthen and bless the union for many years. The couple will receive cleansing energies to leave the past behind and begin a new cycle in harmony. Traditions are followed with maize (corn), cocoa beans, flowers and blessings. Exchange of rings will occur to seal the union or other tokens can be used to represent marriage and pledges. The Mayan Ceremony can be custom designed for any type of situation, a wedding ceremony, blending of a new family, to celebrate a milestone, birthday, anniversary, vow renewal and many other events.
